Who Are We?
Hey there! We are Josh and Denise Guyewski. We started Rusted Bayou Farms on 3 acres in 2015 when we moved back home to Bastrop, Louisiana. We welcomed our son, Hunter, in late 2019 and he loves helping around the farm.
We started out with a flock of brown egg layers and meat rabbits. From there we added some ducks and geese, in 2019 we added Nigerian Dwarf goats and in 2020 we bought our first Kunekune pigs!
Things were going great but we knew we needed more house space and land. In early 2021 we found our dream home with 14 acres and a pond! We built new pens and barns and added a few more animals into the mix. At one point we had roughly 150 animals on the farm!
Unfortunately, in mid 2024, we realized that we had too much going on so we made the hard decision to stop raising our Kunekune pigs and rabbits. It was time to focus on the one thing that I was still enjoying on the farm.... the GOATS!
